In 1936, Girton Golf Club was founded as a eighteen hole course by PGA Professional Allan Gow. He allowed the Club members to purchase the freehold of the course in 1965 and the course was extended to eighteen holes in 1979. In 1992 a custom-designed clubhouse was built and today Girton provides the golfer with a unique combination of course and clubhouse unrivalled in the area.

With the growth of the many trees on the course and the compact nature of the layout, the course demands straight driving and accurate iron play.

The sub soil is clay which means it is always green and in excellent condition during the summer months and with the addition of both green and fairway drainage is now very playable throughout the winter period.

In 1922 a Gentlemens Club was formed in Ramsey which led to the establishment of the Golf Course in 1964 and later to the Ramsey Club Company Limited. Set on the edge of rural Cambridgeshire, in what was once the ancient county of Huntingdonshire, the mature 18 hole parkland course has a par of 71. Its well manicured fairways and greens offer a challenge to both high and low handicap golfers. There are active Sections for Ladies, Seniors, Men and Juniors and all enjoy a variety of mixed events.

Orton Meadows Golf Course was opened initially as a 12 hole course laid out on land available within Ferry Meadows Country Park.

The course was subsequently extended to a full 18 holes with the additional holes being built on land reclaimed during gravel extraction.

The course - a par 67 of 5613 yards designed by Dennis and Roger Fitton - is extremely picturesque, surrounded by trees and having much wildlife including many varieties of birds and waterfowl.
