Orton Meadows Golf Course was opened initially as a 12 hole course laid out on land available within Ferry Meadows Country Park.

The course was subsequently extended to a full 18 holes with the additional holes being built on land reclaimed during gravel extraction.

The course - a par 67 of 5613 yards designed by Dennis and Roger Fitton - is extremely picturesque, surrounded by trees and having much wildlife including many varieties of birds and waterfowl.

Peterborough Milton Golf Club has a fine, well-established par 71 parkland course set in the grounds of the Fitzwilliam Estate, many of the holes being played in full view of Milton Hall. In the late 1920s, the 6th Earl Fitzwilliam built a nine hole course in the grounds of Milton Hall for his own use and for his family and friends. The course provides 18 holes, designed as two loops of 9, and has made use of the natural contours of the landscape, as well as many other mature parkland trees which were on site before development began. The siting of several small lakes and water courses provides a very attractive and interesting course. In addition, there is a 250 yard driving range which also accommodates 4 covered bays, a practice bunker, chipping green and putting green, all within close proximity of the Clubhouse....
