The course is laid out through a mature parkland setting. There are gentle slopes - enough to provide an interesting challenge, but not so steep as to require crampons! There are water features to add to your enjoyment and well designed bunkers to catch the unwary. Keep it straight, stay out of the rough and don't push too hard and you will have a braw day.

Ballater Golf Club was founded in 1892, originally as a nine hole course, on land owned by the laird of Invercauld. When farmland became available in 1905, the course was expanded to eighteen holes. A match was staged in August 1906, between two very well known golfers, James Braid and Harry Vardon, to celebrate the construction of a pavilion and the extension of the course.

It is claimed that golf was played in the village of Cruden Bay as early as 1791. Cruden Bay offers an internationally famous golfing experience - old fashioned links golf at its best - on one of the best links courses in Scotland, and last year was...

Cullen must lay claim to the most remarkable site for a golf course in Europe. There is not a lot of room within this amazing environment for Cullen’s 18 holes, with the course playing it’s outward nine close to the cliffs before doing an about-turn with the inward nine playing back at beach level. At 4,597 yards long, it does manage to fit in a 510-yard par-five 15th.
