Alder Root was first opened May 1993. It is a challenging and demanding 10 Hole course that pushes any golfer, of any ability, sex, or age! Here at Alder Root, we have three packages for you to choose from. Societies can be from a minimum of 10 people to a maximum of 50 people.

The Club was formed in 1992 after a chance meeting between Colin Axford, the landowner and the Late Mike Slater PGA Golf Professional and Course Designer,and after received planning permission for construction of the 18 hole course and clubhouse early in 1993 the course building got underway commenced later that spring. 26 weeks later, using land which was originally a turf farm the first 9 holes were opened, the date was Sunday 28th August 1993 - just 12 months to the day from it's conception.

In 1990, when Phil and Steve McKie were running a successful engineering business and happened to own several acres of woodland and quarry (now occupied by the two storey clubhouse that sits proudly overlooking the course), Phil was talking to a neighbour who was considering using his 120 acres of land, adjacent to theirs, to build a golf course. Discussions continued and, despite being non-golfers, they offered to become partners in the project, only to find that development was an arduous...

Mersey Valley Golf & Country Club was successfully completed in the spring of 1995. Since then the Clubhouse and Course has continued to progress and grow and is currently enjoying a reputation as one of the best golf courses in the surrounding area. The Clubhouse has also gained standing within the local business community as a first-rate venue for meetings, seminars, conferences etc.

Established in 1903, The Warrington Golf Club is a course which has many witnessed many changes since its original design by James Braid, not least at the end of the 2005 season where extensive alterations were made to the first nine holes. Many people set out to play a gentle nine hole parkland course thinking that this will be easy. Well... if you hit the ball straight you're part way there; if you don't there are trees, bushes and nameless other things in the very spots where you don't want them. it could be said that position is the key to golf at Flixton. On the other hand, Flixton is one of the longest nine hole courses in the area so straightness isn't enough; if you can't hit a long ball you won't get up. The problem...
