18 holes, par 70, SSS70, gently undulating heathland, with fast-running fairways lined by firs and oaks. This is one of the better Essex courses without doubt. Four par 3s but only two par 5s means that scoring below 70 is more difficult than it might seem at first. Possibly the greatest threat comes in the form of tightly-bunkered approaches to the subtly-contoured greens.

The Stoke by Nayland Club is situated in 300 acres of beautiful undulating Suffolk countryside, on the edge of the Dedham Vale. It enjoys secluded tranquility yet is only one hour from both Stansted Airport and London.

Birch Grove is a friendly club and with competitions every week it is an ideal way to meet new people. We have excellent drainage on the course and it is very rarely closed due to bad weather. Durign the very wet months of January and February this year the course was only closed twice. Therefore you get good value for your membership and are not frustrated by paying membership to find your course unplayale for long periods.
