Weather the same and looks as if it would never change again. I walked to Cowden this morning and in the afternoon, Charlie and I walked to Holtye Common with Verney Darbishire and Mr. Morley, where they, Charlie and the others looked out a place for a golf links, and amused themselves knocking a golf ball about.

Founded in 1914 and with over 800 members, Nevill Golf Club is well placed on the Southern edge of Tunbridge Wells and has a magnificent view south from the verandah of the clubhouse over the well wooded slopes of Bayham and Frant. The course is exceptionally enjoyable and challenging at the same time and, from its tips, can stretch to nearly 6,500-yards.

Villa Golf is a family run, nine hole pay&play course, set in a tranquil valley in the charming, picturesque, village of Blackham. Originally designed in 1990, the course has matured to become a genuine test of skill for both experienced and novices golfers. Although only 9 hole, the course is a gradually being improved, and offers a variation on the back nine for those wishing to play 18 holes.

Poult Wood Golf Centre is set in rural woodland, three miles north of Tonbridge. It has a reputation for being one of the finest quality pay and play golf centres in the South of England. The green fees for both the 18–hole and 9–hole short courses represent excellent value for money with concessions for juniors, students, senior citizens, Leisure Pass holders and regular users. Poult Wood is also a qualified starter centre for junior golfers.
