The course, being on forest land, is a public one. It is laid out over the old hunting grounds of King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I; where the infamous highwayman Dick Turpin roamed in the 1730's and where golf was first played in Essex on an officially recognised course in 1888. The club has a close and friendly relationship with the Corporation of London which administers the course. It is also the only Golf Club in Essex with the Royal Title.

Nestled in the heart of Epping Forest, Essex, Theydon Bois Golf Club provides for its members and their guests, a spectacular and ever-changing natural environment in which to play golf. The course is truly unique, with 9 of the fairways being narrowly sculptured out of the ancient forest, pleasantly contrasting with 9 wider and winding fairways. Subtly borrowed greens are guarded by strategically placed bunkers, all of which make this par 69 course a real challenge for all standards of player.

Thorndon Park Golf Course which was opened in 1920 was laid out by the world renowned course designer Harry Colt. Colt's Essex strategic masterpiece is set within 240 acres of an Elizabethan deer park which was owned by the Petre Family. Its glorious tight fairways and fast draining soil are the envy of any course. Individual challenging holes gently undulate through the veteran woodlands dating back to the 13th Century.

Inaugurated on 28th May 1910, the course was built on parkland and today maintains its original rolling terrain.
Set in 120 acres and measuring some 6300 yds with a par of 68 off the yellow markers, Langley is a qualifying course for the Open Championship and has fulfilled this function on a number of occasions.

Gentlemen members and Visitors alike may always play from the medal tees. Only 2 Ball Matches, singles or foursomes are permitted, the aim being for everyone to get round in 3 hours so they can enjoy the informal atmosphere of the Clubhouse, and perhaps have time for another 18 holes.
From 1st April 2007 to 30th September 2007, 4 balls are welcome on Tuesdays after 11.00a.m.

The Coombe Wood Golf Club is located in Kingston upon Thames, London. It covers 67 acres of the historic Coombe Estate. Its first Captain was A.J. Balfour in 1904 - the then Prime Minister. Its course is famed for seven challenging Par 3's complemented by tree lined Par 4's with blind tee shots and heavily bunkered greens.

Croham Hurst Golf Club is a friendly and welcoming club that was founded in 1911. The 18 hole, par 70, parkland course was designed by Fred Hawtree and five times Open Champion, James Braid. Whether on the course or in the clubhouse, there is a sense of history, and a wonderfully warm sensation of being completely at home. It is a very special corner of Surrey, close to London and Croydon, boasting the outstanding natural beauty that once adorned most of the county.

Dulwich & Sydenham Hill has been a private members club since 1894. The 6,100 yard course (par 69) is set among mature oaks on the slopes of Sydenham Hill, overlooking Dulwich College. Designed by Harry Colt it features undulating fairways and greens, and its newly constructed water hazards now come into play. The London Scottish Golf Club was organised as a club by members of the London Scottish Rifle Volunteers on 5th November 1864 after a
shooting match held on the Common by the National Rifle Association.
The NRA was inaugurated by Queen Victoria in 1860. The Club was adopted into the London Scottish
Rifle Volunteers, as shown by a Regimental Order to that effect dated 2nd May 1866. The London Scottish Golf Club's first headquarters were situated at Mrs Doggett's cottage...
