The course is set amongst dune land, heath land and woodland in an estate of about 470 acres and is a site of special scientific interest.
Members play the course at 6505 yards and championship length is 7028 yards.

Accuracy is always required since the indigenous heather protects much of the rough and great caution is required whether this be off the tee, in approach shots, or on the green.

Established since 1897 it is a challenging and scenic 18 hole course with some of the finest views in Lancashire.
Excellent restaurant and bar with all the clubhouse facilities you would expect from a private club make this a popular venue for visitors and societies small or large.

Childwall is a testing 6470 yard parkland course,
demanding accuracy from the tee.

The course design was based on the recommendation of James Braid when the Club moved to its present excellent site at Gateacre in1938. Over the years it has undergone some alterations, mainly to increase the length.

In addition to the course the Clubhouse is extremely attractive, serves excellent food and has a friendly, hospitable atmosphere.

Set amongst ranges of tall sandhills and smaller sand dunes, the Course is a true test of golf for all golfers. Accuracy is of ultimate importance and you need to plan your drive rather than just hit it as far as possible.
The coastal climate is kind and is a delightful atmosphere in which to play golf. The 18 Hole, 6703 yards, par 72, Course (sss 73) starts and finishes at the Clubhouse.The Yellow Course is 18 Holes, 6285 yards, par 70 (sss 70).

Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club was founded in 1886 and the present Course constructed in 1897. The Clubhouse celebrated its Centenary in 1998. It is one of the premier links courses in the world, host to ten Open Championships, two Ryder Cups and numerous other major tournaments including the Women's and Seniors Open Championships.
