Founded in 1993, The Hampshire Golf Club is set in 240 acres of rolling Hampshire Countryside in the famous Test Valley. The undulating land provides wonderful views and a backdrop for the 35,000 young native hardwood trees and shrubs. Brampton Heath is located on undulating heathland, sitting on very free draining soil. This allows play all year round, always with trolleys and never on tee mats. The greens play very true at all times and the fairways are arguably considered the best in the County. The course is constantly improved every season through the construction of new tees, hazards such as ditches and mounds, and an extensive tree planting programme. It was due to the initiative and enthusiasm of Dr. John Allison that golf was introduced into Kettering and a golf club formed in 1891. Dr. John Allison arrived in Kettering in 1889 from Coldstream in Berwickshire. He qualified in Edinburgh, and then worked as a house surgeon at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. In Kettering he became the senior practitioner during a career which lasted until he retired in 1930.
