The Ponteland Golf Club is located in the village of Ponteland approximately 10 miles west of Newcastle upon Tyne. Established in 1927, this picturesque parkland course offers easy walking as well as a fair and memorable challenge to players of all abilities. Designed by leading golf course architect JH Taylor, Chester le Street golf club offers a long and particularly testing parkland course with some very tight fairways and excellent views of the surrounding Durham countryside as well as Lumley Castle which neighbours the course. It is fairly flat but still somewhat challenging, and a stern test regardless of how low your handicap may be.

Whitburn Golf Club is located in the North-East of England between Whitburn Village and South Shields. The Club was formed on 4th June 1892 at a meeting in Lockharts Cocoa Rooms in Clayton Street, Newcastle. The first records in the Golfing Journal of the time show it as being named NEWCASTLE UNITED WORKMEN’S GOLF CLUB which signified that it was for the benefit of all classes, not only the rich and titled, and the spirit of friendship continues to this day.
