This mature and beautifully presented parkland course is situated at the foot of Prestatyn hillside. It is bordered to the East by the picturesque Bishopswood and to the West commands panoramic views of the sea, the Great Orme and Snowdonia.

Rhyl golf course is a 9 hole (18 tee) challenging links with large fairways but tight, well guarded greens which will challenge golfers of all standards. The par 71 course (off the white tees) provides a test for any golfer, especially when the northerly and westerly winds blow. The greens are firm and fast, the course is open throughout the year and in winter - playing conditions are particularly good. Set in the beautiful Vale of Clwyd, Rhuddlan is a course which offers fine views and a sheltered climate screened by the Clwydian Range. A gently undulating parkland course of 6291 yards, SSS 70, par 72 (Yellow tees), providing an excellent test of golf and is a regularly chosen venue for County and National Championship Events.

Aside from being one of the most striking golf courses in northern Wales it is also one of the longest, as it stretches to nearly 7, 000 yards from its championship tees. The par five, dogleg third (Round the Bend) is a tough hole with out-of-bounds on the left and it doesn't get any easier. The next is a stroke index 2 par 4 of 468 yards (The Ridge) that is sometimes unreachable in two if the wind is blowing! Ideal for the beginner or if you just want to have a fun day golfing, the course offers you the chance to test your skills on par 4 holes and your touch on the par 3`s, A great experience for all players of the great game of golf.

To ignore St. Melyd because it is not an 18 hole course would be a mistake. Visitors are rewarded with a true test of golf. The front and back nines have separate tees offering a variety of fine holes.
