Golf Courses in this category :
Undulating fairways and tight lies give the course a downland/links character. Bracken and gorse punish wayward shots and on windy days golfers need to negotiate the hazards with care.
There are many longer courses, but few with a finer set of par-threes. Equally memorable are the closing holes, usually played into the wind. The 18th in particular with its intimidating gorse and renowned split-level fairway will live long in the memory.

Royal Porthcawl was described as being one of the twelve finest courses in the world by the late Tom Scott, a leading writer on golf and former editor of Golf Illustrated. Since his day the club has acquired a large practice area and further improvements have been made to the course, developments which keep Royal Porthcawl firmly among the world's top golf courses. The status of the course is sustained by the many prestigious professional and amateur events held at the club over the years.

The course is laid out in two loops of nine holes and although each half tests the golfer, the second nine poses more difficulties. As with all great courses ‘P & K’ finishes with three extremely testing holes. All over 400 yards, well bunkered and designed perfectly to penalise any wayward shot.

superb clubhouse where the welcome is second to none and our reputation for the quality of the food is well known. Come in, relax and tell of the putts that got away, the superb drives that were only slightly off line and the bad luck you had with some of your lies. What a great way to end an enjoyable days golf!

Without doubt the 18 hole golf course is maturing into one of the most picturesque and well conditioned golf courses in the Vale of Glamorgan. The 5291 yard course demands more than just length, it requires a little bit of imagination to manoeuvre your way around and over the mature oaks, bunkers and banks - not to mention the odd water hazard here and there.
We believe our course is a fair challenge for any level of golf and an enjoyable challenge that makes you come back year...
