The new owners of Mill Ride (British Ensign Golf Limited - October 03) have clearly stated their intention to turn its undoubted potential into one of the countries leading golf clubs. Significant investment is already in evidence on both the course and in the clubhouse and a highly experienced new management team assembled by Wayne Sheffield and which notably includes renowned course consultant to the PGA European Tour, Jack McMillan MBE, overseeing the golf course development & conditioning.

Subject: Membership
Comment: My experience at Mill Ride is not a good one. I took up what I thought was temporary membership to try the course for 3 months. At the end of the period I decided not to continue, unfortunately they indicated that I had signed for the whole year and that I was due to pay the full fee. They use underhand tactic to sign you up. Be careful if you are considering joining. There is lots of small print so please take time to read it fully. Ultimately they were not prepared to discuss the matter and enforced the contract via court proceedings. They course is OKish but their business ethics are terrible. If you are considering joining make sure you want to join for the entire period. I have learnt a serious and expensive lesson
