Description

Founded in 1901. A meadowland course on two levels contained within a loop of the River Dee. The car park overlooks the racecourse across the river.

The Chester golf club as we know it has developed through many changes since its formation in 1901.

The club officially came into being on 24th May 1901 when it was able to lay out a 6 - Hole Course on land owned by Farmer Ithell at Upton Hall. This was adjacent to, and just North of, the then County Asylum which later became the Deva Hospital, and is now part of the Countess of Chester Hospital.
