Description

The course was designed in 1904 by the well known course architect and golf professional Cuthbert Butchart, who also worked on designing courses such as Worplesdon, West Hill, Hunstanton and Royal County Down. The course is built on Bagshot sand, which means that it is very free draining and is playable even at the wettest times of the year.

The course is an easy walking course of 18 holes, 6,211 yards (SSS 70) for men and 5,652 yards (SSS 72) for ladies. It represents a very good golfing challenge to both professionals and amateurs alike with many woodlands, narrow fairways and 91 bunkers.
